This is a piece that’s meaning derives from more than just the visual work itself; it is a piece that needs a context for the meaning to be conveyed. This artwork displays the physical and very material paraphernalia that the older generation hold on to to practise their religion or feel closer to God. The younger generation however, contrast starkly in that they do not tend to keep material objects, they are more immaterial in their practise of religion. Having this image of a very heavily decorated shrine pasted on a T-Shirt is meant to speak in the difference between generations and their attachment style to their religions.
